MEC SHOCKED BY THE DEATH OF TWO CHILDREN AND THEIR FATHER

 

NKOWANKOWA- A man (51) and two children aged 13 and 9 have died after the man allegedly set the house alight while he was inside with his two daughters at Nkowankowa this afternoon. 

According to the police statement, two counts of murder and inquest are being investigated.

The deceased have been identified as Gladwin Mboweni, Minkateko and Tsakani Mboweni.

The MEC for Social Development Mme. Nkakareng Rakgoale has reacted with shock to a suspected Gender Based Violence incident.

The MEC deployed social workers immediately to the scene to provide psychosocial support to the bereaved families and other affected parties. 

"Incidents of GBV are happening at an alarming rate in the province, hence we are calling on all the people to contact our social workers when they are experiencing difficulties in their relationships and families. We have our family preservation programs that are aimed at assisting families that are in conflicting and toxic relationships, " said MEC Rakgoale. 

MEC also highlighted that social workers have started providing psychosocial support to the mother of the victims and has sent her deepest sympathy and condolences to the family.
