POLICE RELEASE NAMES OF A TAXI BOSS AND HIS FEMALE COMPANION SHOT AND KILLED IN BOLOBEDU
MOHLABANENG-The police in Bolobedu are on a manhunt for two male suspects, who allegedly killed a taxi boss and his female friend, on the evening of Tuesday, 10 August.
Preliminary police reports indicate that the incident happened at around 19:20, at a gas station in Mohlabaneng cross,Greater Letaba municipality.
It is alleged that, 47-year-old Fourie Mobai from Ga-Matshwi and 42-year-old Deborah Moila from Bellevue east, were traveling in a white VW polo when they made a stop at a gas station.
The male victim went into one of the shops while his companion remained in the car. Out of the blue, two suspects emerged and one entered the shop and started firing shots at Maphayi, while the other suspect shot the woman still seated inside the vehicle and fled the scene.
Sergeant Khomotso Hlokwe confirmed that they have opened two inquest dockets of murder at Kgapane police station.
"We can confirm that indeed the incident took place yesterday, 10 August in Mohlabaneng village.
The suspects are, however, still at large. We don't know what was the motive behind the murders, however, taxi violence cannot be ruled out as we seen many such incidences of this nature occur in the country ". she said.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe also condemned the incident in the strongest of terms and requested the general public to work together with the police to bring the suspects to book.
